You can get fit, improve your confidence and have great physical achievements, but you will also get the ideas and concepts of what a martial art really is, and how these concepts may help you become a better human being.”
What is Wing Tsun Kung Fu?
Wing Tsun Kung Fu is one of the world’s oldest martial arts, with roots stretching back over 1,500 years to the founding of the Southern Shaolin Temple in China. Unique among martial arts, Wing Tsun had three women in its founding, giving it a distinctly innovative and practical approach that sets it apart from other martial arts.
Wing Tsun was created with a very special understanding: to live a life of harmony and resilience, you must be able to face and overcome the challenges life presents. This philosophy embraces realism, recognizing the necessity of dealing with real-world conflict effectively while striving to avoid unnecessary confrontation. In this way, Wing Tsun is not just a martial art—it is a life philosophy, teaching us to manage conflict when it arises, resolve it where possible, and respond decisively when needed.
This remains as true today as it was 1,500 years ago. Wing Tsun has become a powerful tool for self-defence, personal growth, and inner mastery. Its efficiency and adaptability make it accessible to individuals of all sizes, strengths, and fitness levels. Beyond combat, Wing Tsun trains you to manage fear, enhance focus, and approach life with calm confidence.
Rooted in the philosophy of balance and flow, Wing Tsun aligns your body and mind to help you navigate life’s challenges with grace and resilience. Its efficiency and effectiveness have made it the martial art of choice for military and special forces around the world.
Our Kwoon, based in the serene surroundings of Magic of Foresters, is a modern-day reflection of the Shaolin Temple. The word "Shaolin" itself means "new forest," symbolizing growth, renewal, and connection to nature. With over 25 years of teaching experience and more than 10,000 students, we’ve seen the transformative power of Wing Tsun firsthand.
Wing Tsun is suitable for people from all backgrounds, and our adult classes are open to individuals aged 13 and above. Join us to unlock your latent potential and discover a happier, more grounded, and resilient you.
